NTU professor delivers special lecture on campus
On August 25, 2022, Professor Chia-Wen (Kevin) Wu from National Taiwan University (NTU) delivered a special lecture at the OMU campus. The event was facilitated through a KAKENHI international research project led by Professor Yutaka Amao, Director of the OMU Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis (RECAP).
Professor Wu delivered his lecture, entitled “MOFs-assisted plastic conversion: fine chemical production and hydrogen generation,” at the Sugimoto campus. He explained pressing issues related to plastic waste and his current research on technologies to convert this type of waste into green energy. The lecture was followed by an active Q&A session, during which Professor Wu spoke with OMU students and faculty members regarding possibilities to achieve a carbon neutral society and renewable energy generation through the development of artificial photosynthesis and hybrid energy systems, among others.
This is Professor Wu’s second visit to OMU. Professor Wu is looking forward to future visits to strengthen the ongoing research collaboration with RECAP.
