OMU and Nagasaki University sign a comprehensive collaboration agreement
On Monday, September 11, 2023, OMU held a ceremony and a commemorative symposium to mark the signing of a comprehensive collaboration agreement with Nagasaki University, at the Osaka International Convention Center.
To kick off the signing ceremony, Mr. Hirofumi Yoshimura, Governor of Osaka Prefecture and Mr. Kengo Oishi, Governor of Nagasaki Prefecture each addressed the audience via video message. Then OMU President Masahiro Tatsumisago and Nagasaki University President Shigeru Kohno signed the agreement which aims to promote collaboration and cooperation in education, research and human resource development, especially in the field of infectious diseases, from an international “center of knowledge.”
After the signing ceremony, a commemorative symposium was held with congratulatory speeches by Mr. Kozo Akino, State Minister of Finance, and Dr. Hung Thai Do, Director of the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Following the congratulatory speeches, researchers from both universities gave lectures on future developments with the theme, "Toward the integration of global health and metropolitan health: the fight against infectious diseases".

Commemorative symposium
Titled, “Toward the integration of global health and metropolitan health: the fight against infectious diseases,” researchers from the two universities gave lectures and participated in a panel discussion with participants from various universities, research institutes, and companies.
