German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) holds information session on Nakamozu Campus

Focusing on opportunities for study and research in Germany, an information session featuring representatives from DAAD Tokyo, including Director Axel Karpenstein, was held at the Nakamozu Campus on June 11, 2024.

DAAD stands for the German Academic Exchange Service and offers scholarships, fosters university cooperation, and supports programs to study abroad in Germany.

Mr. Karpenstein and OMU President Masahiro Tatsumisago delivered opening remarks, while other DAAD staff members provided a comprehensive information session about studying and researching in Germany.

The information session also featured Professor Shinji Yamasaki of the Graduate School of Veterinary Science, who offered a compelling personal perspective. In his presentation, he delved into his experiences as a Humboldt Research Fellow, featuring photos and research papers from his time in Germany. Professor Yamasaki's presentation highlighted how his research in Germany proved to be a valuable experience that has been instrumental in his career, providing insights to aspiring researchers.

Beyond the presentations, a networking event provided a setting for further relationship-building. This offered participants and DAAD representatives the opportunity to connect and exchange information in a more informal setting.
