Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University conducts Japan Program 2024 at OMU
From May 13 to June 11, 27 students from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) visited Japan for a month to broaden their international perspectives through the “Japan Program 2024.”
During their visit, ERAU students attended lectures given by ERAU faculty members and OMU lectures on aerospace, Japanese culture, and Japanese architecture. Additionally, they expanded their knowledge through communications with students from the Small Spacecraft Systems Research Center (SSSRC). The students further deepened their understanding of different cultures by experiencing traditional Japanese culture through the Japanese traditional music club, Japanese archery club, OMU’s competitive karuta card game circle, the Shiran yosakoi festival dance circle, and OMU Global Members (OGM).
About 35 OMU students volunteered to be “buddies” for ERAU students and supported them on a field trip to Kyoto. Through presentations on club activities and student life by students from both universities, and research presentations at a mini-conference with faculty members, they were able to communicate in English, get to know each other, and have a meaningful and enjoyable exchange.
OMU will continue to promote further international exchange with ERAU through the acceptance of students in future programs, in addition to other international student programs.
