University Public Corporation Osaka has decided to appoint Dr. Hiroyuki Sakuragi to the post of president of Osaka Metropolitan University for the four-year term from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2029.

During a news conference held in Osaka on August 28, 2024, Dr. Sakuragi stated, “Together with the people of the region, I would like the university to play an important role as a ‘center of knowledge’ and an urban think tank that contributes to the growth and development of Osaka by solving various issues.”
