Delegation from Taiwan visits university hospital

A group from Taiwan engaged in smart healthcare visited OMU hospital on October 11, 2024. The delegation was welcomed by Toshiyuki Matsui, Vice President of international Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development, Norifumi Fujimura, Vice President of Industry-Academia-Government Collaborative Creation and Intellectual Property, Fuminori Tokunaga, Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Medicine, and Toshihiko Shibata, Deputy Director of the university hospital.

The group first toured the hybrid operating room and observed ongoing robotic liver surgery. During the tour, the group asked a number of questions that Dr. Shibata and Dr. Hiroji Shinkawa, lecturer in the Department of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery, responded to. The group was enthusiastic about the tour, as it was a rare opportunity to see the advanced hybrid operating room and robotic surgery in action up close.

After the tour, Vice President Matsui introduced the university, and Vice Dean Tokunaga introduced the School of Medicine and the university hospital. Finally, Vice President Fujimura explained about the Innovation Academy Project. The meeting ended with a friendly atmosphere, with wishes for further development of smart healthcare in Japan and Taiwan.
