外国人研究者招へい助成事業で7月16日まで滞在されている米国 Stevens Institute of Technology（スティーブンス工科大学）のRaju Datla准教授をお迎えし、海洋エネルギー技術開発に関する特別講演会を開催いたします。多くの皆様のご参加をお待ちしております。

Title：
Developments in Marine Energy Technologies

Abstract：
One of the stated goals of the UN Sustainable Development is to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all, and sustainable marine energy can play a vital role in social and economic development and help in meeting this goal. This presentation covers recent and ongoing research conducted at Stevens Institute of Technology. Studies on tidal energy devices, wave energy devices and offshore wind farms will be presented. The methodologies include experimental studies using scaled physical models in a wave and towing tank, and numerical models. The focus will be on hydrodynamics along with a brief overview on the developments in control systems and environmental impacts. Challenges and opportunities in these areas will be summarized.
