The joint research findings of Prof. Yutaka Amao and Honda R&D have been featured on the cover of "New Journal of Chemistry"

The research paper "Electrocatalytic production of formaldehyde with formaldehyde dehydrogenase using a viologen redox mediator" led by Professor Yutaka Amao (Director, Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis) and a research group from Honda R&D Co., Ltd., has been featured on the cover of the New Journal of Chemistry, a journal of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

E-fuels, carbon-neutral alternative fuels generated from renewable resources, can be stored as liquid or gaseous fuels. Our research team aims to establish a biocatalytic method for synthesizing methanol, a representative e-fuel, from carbon dioxide. In this study, we have successfully developed an electrocatalytic method for producing formaldehyde from formic acid. The cover design envisions a station supplying e-fuels produced from carbon dioxide.
