 On Thursday, June 22, 2023, a commemorative lecture was held at the Sugimoto Campus to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis (ReCAP). In addition, a kick-off symposium was held at the "Joint Usage/Research Center for Catalysis, which has been certified by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a Joint Usage/Research Center."

 At the beginning of the first part, President Masahiro Tatsumi, who participated online, congratulated ReCAP on the results of its research over the past 10 years and expressed his hope for further development in the future. In the commemorative lecture, Professor Yasushi Sekine (Waseda University) spoke about "Future Energy and Materials for the Realization of Carbon Neutrality by 2050," and there was a lively exchange of opinions during the Q&A session. Next, Professor Yutaka Amao (Director, Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis) introduced "10 Years of History and Future Prospects" and expressed his gratitude for the support and cooperation he has received so far.

 In the second part, the Kick-off Symposium was held at the Joint Usage/Research Center for Catalysis, and Professor Kenichi Shimizu (Director, Institute for Catalysis, Hokkaido University) introduced each center. Next, the Institute for Catalysis, Hokkaido University and ReCAP gave explanations on their latest research.

 Many stakeholders participated in both face-to-face and online meetings, and it was a meaningful opportunity to exchange ambitious opinions for future research.
