The idea of Prof. Yutaka Amao and his colleagues won the "OSAKA REBORN Award" of the REBORN content discovery project

A research team led by Professor Yutaka Amao of the Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis received the "OSAKA REBORN Award" in the REBORN Content Discovery Project.

Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City are considering how to participate in exhibits, such as pavilions, suitable for the host city of the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo. Therefore, we have compiled the "2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo Exhibitor Participation Basic Concept (Draft)," which states that we will realize exhibitions that allow visitors to feel "life," "health," and life in the near future, as well as convey the vitality and charm of Osaka to more people around the world.

In addition, the main theme of the exhibition is REBORN. With the meaning of "people can be reborn" and "take a new step", the exhibition and event will be realized with the aim of being deeply remembered by visitors through experience and co-creation.

In the future, with the aim of embodying this concept and contributing to the consideration of specific content for exhibitions and events at pavilions in Osaka, etc., we were looking for proposals for specific content that we would like to realize in 2025.

This time, a total of 208 ideas were submitted by 118 organizations, and 8 ideas were selected for the OSAKA REBORN Award. The idea of Professor Amao and his colleagues is "a future technology that allows carbon dioxide to be reborn as plastic."
