Haruki Muramatsu, a second-year student at Tokyo Metropolitan Nishi High School, visited our center as part of his research activities. Mr. Muramatsu's research topics were "Why has artificial photosynthesis not yet been commercialized?" and "What kind of technology is needed for commercialization?" Center Director Amao kindly explained these topics in detail to meet Mr. Muramatsu's requests.

Mr. Muramatsu's impression

"It was very impressive to hear that even among researchers, there is no consensus on what to produce from CO2. I realized that creating a society capable of utilizing new technologies is also crucial for the realization of artificial photosynthesis."
