We hosted an international symposium in honor of Dr. Michael Nobel.

In commemoration of inviting Dr. Michael Nobel as a distinguished visiting professor under its program to invite overseas researchers, Osaka City University co-hosted an international symposium with the Biomass Conversion Catalysis Research Committee of the Institute for Catalysis, at Tanaka Memorial Hall on October 28, 2015.

The symposium was attended by 112 participants from both within and outside the university. In his keynote speech titled "The Innovative Genius of the Nobel Brothers and the Nobel Prizes," Dr. Nobel gave a fascinating presentation, using valuable materials and gestures to delve into the origins of the Nobel family's genius, the Nobel Prize, and the life of Alfred Nobel.

The second half of the symposium included invited talks by Professor Licheng Sun of the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, a renowned expert in artificial photosynthesis, and two other distinguished researchers from the Biomass Conversion Catalysis Research Committee of the Institute for Catalysis. The presentations sparked a lively discussion among all attendees.

Going forward, we anticipate that Dr. Nobel will establish the "Michael Nobel Laboratory" within the Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis and collaborate with us on research projects. We also look forward to deepening our international partnerships through Dr. Nobel's extensive global network.

The detailed program for the day is outlined below.
