About Hiroshi Tamaru
I am a professor in the Department of Mathematics at Osaka Metropolitan University, and the director of the Osaka Central Advanced Mathematical Institute (OCAMI).
My research area is differential geometry, with a particular focus on homogeneous spaces, symmetric spaces, Lie groups, and geometric structures on these spaces. I am also studying quandles, which can be regarded as discrete symmetric spaces. The list of my publications can be found at Publications.
I have been a member of the extended committee of the Geometry Section of the Mathematical Society of Japan since 2011, an editor of the Osaka Journal of Mathematics since 2023, and an associate member of the Science Council of Japan since 2023.
