Other Activities
In addition to the activities introduced so far, there are initiatives that V-station is doing. Here are some examples of those cases.
Briefing session, etc.
V-station and student groups regularly hold briefings and orientations to help many people learn about volunteers and volunteer centers and help them become interested in them.
Seasonal volunteer seminar
We hold briefing sessions for several days once each season, and we call them seasonal volunteer seminar. We organize and convey volunteer information for each target period, and help you find activities that interest you.
Name of seasonal volunteer seminar | Dration of target volunteer information |
---|---|
Spring volunteer seminar "Harubora" | first semester period |
Summer volunteer seminar "Natsubora" | summer vacation |
Autumn volunteer seminar "Akibora" | second semester period |
Winter volunteer seminar "Fuyubora" | spring vacation |
Information session for individual volunteer groups
Each student volunteer group may hold its own information session/orientation. In particular, we often hold a welcome party for new students in April and hold briefing sessions to encourage new students to participate in activities. Here, new students deepen their understanding of activities by having them actually prepare for activities and experience participating in activities, and deepen friendships by having fun interacting with members by playing games etc. These are initiatives that lead to long-term continuation of the activities of the organization by actively recruiting new students.
In addition, we may hold training sessions.
Announcements, etc.
As a report of daily volunteer activities, we sometimes make presentations at formal occasions. Volunteer activities will be summarized and presented from a micro perspective such as the outline and results of individual activity examples and future prospects, and from a macro perspective such as the number of activities in a certain period of time, activity details, trends in participants, and related social conditions.
Student Volunteer Forum (Gakubom)
Student Volunteer Forum is a large-scale event where student volunteers from all over the country gather and is called Gakubom. Through events such as exchange meetings, breakout sessions, and action markets, we hope to facilitate future development by interacting with students from other universities.
From March 3rd to 5th, 2017, 8 student staff members from the former Osaka Prefecture University V-station participated in the "5th National Research Exchange Meeting for Student Volunteers and Supporters", and at a subcommittee we presented an activity example.

Social welfare council training
V-station conducts various joint projects with the Council of Social Welfare (Society of Social Welfare), which conducts projects aimed at solving welfare issues. For instance, we sometimes make a presentation at a training session sponsored by the Social Co-operative.
Others (indirect support)
In addition to the activities mentioned so far, there are initiatives to support student volunteer activities.
Venue provision for events
When a relatively small group such as a student group holds an event, we may provide the venue for the event.
Support for the realization of activities
Depending on the activity, V-station may help realize the activity by providing support such as advice and provision of equipment.
