Condensed matter physics studies both the fundamental nature and the complexity of systems composed of a large number of atoms and/or molecules.
Phenomenological theory, mathematical theory and computer simulation, all meet in condensed matter physics.
The interplay between theory and experiment is particulaly lively in the Condensed-Matter Physics Group. "Lively work" is our motto.

As of April 1, 2025, our laboratory has changed its name from the "Elementary Excitation Physics Laboratory" to the "Topological Quantum Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (TQFD Lab)."
