Support for Disaster Recovery / Local Disaster Prevention Enlightenment
At V-station, we carry out a variety of activities, including support for disaster areas, raising awareness of disasters, and training to prepare for disasters. The driving force is the student corps "Disaster Team". From Sakai, Osaka, we are thinking about what we can do, and through various activities, we are acquiring the ability to prepare for possible disasters in the future.
This picture shows that we need four phases in order to fight against the disaster. In the center circle, the disaster outbreak in the top, and in a clockwise direction, Recovery, Reconstruction, Disaster prevention, Preparation are indicated. The right two phases are Support for Disaster Recovery, and the left two phases are Local Disaster Prevention Enlightenment. We do what we can, when we can, where we can.
Recovery
In addition to fundraising activities for the affected areas, we also carried out support activities for the affected areas, such as removing mud walls from houses and removing roof tiles that fell on the road. In 2018, I visited Soja City in Okayama Prefecture and Mihara City in Hiroshima Prefecture by volunteer bus.
Currently, in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, we are also cleaning photos that have been damaged by muddy water.

Reconstruction
To prevent the Great East Japan Earthquake from fading from the memory, students and civic groups worked together to plan "3.11. Sakai Akari no Hana Hiroba," a place where like-minded people can gather in Sakai, Osaka. Live performances on the theme of reconstruction and mourning, sales of goods dealing with products from the disaster area, and candle lighting at the end of the project, working together with the citizens of Sakai to prevent the disaster from fading. At the university festival, grilled seafood is sold using squid and scallops procured from fresh fish shops in Tohoku.

Disaster prevention
We carry out "Iza! Kaeru caravan!". Children can learn about disaster prevention in a fun way, and when they experience programs related to disaster prevention, such as a game of picking beans with paper tableware, they can get toys. We are creating opportunities for people of all ages to have awareness and knowledge about disasters.

Preparation
Participate in the annual "Map Drill for Rescue Activities by Disaster Volunteers from inside and outside Shizuoka Prefecture" in Shizuoka Prefecture. Through workshops, we consider how support groups outside Shizuoka Prefecture can provide support in the event of an emergency, and how support groups within the prefecture should respond. We believe that "connections" within and outside the prefecture are important in a disaster that creates diverse needs.
