Shirasagi Ouchi Gohan
"Shirasagi Ouchi Gohan": project to create a place to stay in the community
From children to the elderly, we eat meals, talk, play together. It's a home-like place.
"Shirasagi Ouchi Gohan" is there to enable people who live in Shirasagi to be full, warm and happy. We hope that many people will connect and Shirasagi will become a lively and warm town.
We act with the aim of making "creating a place to belong" in the area where if you visit, you will find someone and where you can feel relieved.
Aiming to be a place that plays a role like a community "social place" with a comfortable and warm atmosphere, we will promote communication between local residents, which will be the foundation for solving various problems caused by the weakening of ties.
We believe "food" is important as a tool for that. We aim to become a place where many possibilities can be expected through food, such as the creation of roles through food such as cooking and serving, interaction between residents of all generations and positions, and the opportunity for new activities born from it.
As a collaborative project with student volunteers and local communities, Shirasagi Ouchi Gohan Executive Committee, a voluntary organization consisted of NPO Momo no Ki and Osaka Metropolitan University student volunteers and other local residents, regularly create a place for the community through the provision of food several times a month (currently on the 1st and 3rd Mondays).
We hold food culture and seasonal events on holidays, etc., and create time for interaction other than meals according to the voices of the community (for example, providing learning support).
