Center Overview

The Center for Research and Development of Bioresources, a research center for the Organization for Research Promotion, was established in April 1992 to conduct joint project research with Osaka Prefecture University and private companies. In April 2022, it was positioned as a research unit at Osaka Metropolitan University. Combining private companies' needs with seeds arising through diverse basic research processes at Osaka Prefecture University, it jointly conducts applied and development research of new technologies and products.

To handle the issues humankind faces, such as food, energy, and the environment, the center with the university's Graduate School of Agriculture at the core aims to develop new biological functions by making full use of cutting-edge technologies such as biotechnology and build new biological production systems that utilize them. We believe that, as a university open to communities, we have a duty to proactively offer society the knowledge and technology accumulated at our university and contribute to the progress of society.

1	We are working on promoting research by offering facilities and equipment for joint research, such as with private companies.
2	We provide technical education and training to researchers and technicians in private companies.
3	We devise the exchange of academic and research information through seminars and lectures.
4	We offer technical consultation in relation to the research development of private companies.
5	We provide spaces for joint research and exchange with overseas researchers.
6	We provide practical education and research guidance for students.
