Welcome!
Developing care for people to support health and quality of life!
To make a difference in quality of community-based integrated care and community and home health nursing
Welcome!
Welcome to the website of our Department of Community-based Integrated Care Science, School of Nursing, Osaka Metropolitan University!
At the Department of Community-based Integrated Care Science, we study the development or improvement of community-based care and a care system for people living in a community to support health and quality of life, based on the discipline of community and home health nursing.
What are the concerns around community-based integrated care for supporting people’s health and quality of life?
To address these concerns, one of our missions is to develop various levels of care including care for illness, preventive care for those at high risk of frailty or health disorders, and health promotion, respecting people’s autonomy and satisfaction. Another mission is to develop a community-based integrated care system or suggest public health or welfare policy based on evidence, considering the sustainability and efficiency of health care resources.
In the case of our predecessor, the Department of Home Health Nursing, School of Nursing, Osaka City University (2006–2022), we trained various human resources, including nurses, leaders in nursing practice, and members of nursing faculties; conducted numerous research projects; and contributed to the community. While our previous activities have emphasized traditions and networking with human or health care resources, we intend to continue to pursue a field-oriented approach and improve knowledge of community-based integrated care and community and home health nursing.
